Writing resumes and cover letters.
Some things get better with time. Some things become easier to do the more you do of it. This, dear people, is not one of those things.

Agreed. Even if it’s a job I’m wicked excited about and could expound upon verbally forever, when it comes to trying to convince someone that they should hire me…I’m less good at it. It’s annoying.

Exactly. Plus, there’s something about looking at myself on paper that makes me feel incredibly uninteresting and inadequate. I’m tempted to write on top of my resumes, “Hold it right there! I swear I’m great in real life. It’s just that this paper flattens me right out! You just need to meet me (and ignore my blushing).” But somehow I don’t think that’s a very smart tactic.
