procrastination
I figured out the reason I never try to finish tasks earlier than the last possible minute. It’s because no matter how long I’ve been working on a project with a deadline, I will continue to work on it until there is absolutely no more time left… as in, it’s 1:30 in the morning and I need at least a couple hours of sleep. It doesn’t matter if I’ve already been working on the thing for a month. I can’t help myself. I cannot resist the urge to continue tweaking it and tweaking it and tweaking it.
Of course, since I’ve never actually tried finishing a project that far in advance, this will continue to remain a theory. But I think it’s a pretty good one. …It seems in my mind, there’s always a good way to justify procrastination. (To future employers who might be reading this: I’m TOTALLY kidding. And by “TOTALLY,” I mean “mostly.”)

That’s a pretty good assessment, I think. Though, this kind of makes it sound more like perfectionism than procrastination.

Nah, it’s procrastination. But calling it “perfectionism” sure makes me feel better about myself. :D
