the pen addict
A random trail of link-clicking a few minutes ago led me to a blog that I swear was written especially for me (and maybe my sister, too). See, I’ve got this weird obsession with pens that bridges on snobbery. I’m pretty sure this site—called the pen addict—will only fuel the madness.
Aaand, I’m afraid I relate a little too well to this comedy sketch (also found here):

Okay, okay…you’ve pressured me into telling you the truth…I’m this way, too. You both have it in your DNA.
btw….about 100 people choke to death on ball point pens annually. It’s true.

Guilty as charged! My hubby laughs about the fact that I have BOXES of pens but continue to buy more. It’s that those ones in the box SUCK and I’m too picky!!
Thanks for the laugh on that sketch. I never saw that one on the show, but I can TOTALLY relate!

I don’t want to know how 100 people manage to choke on ballpoint pens, Mom. Seriously… that’s weird, in a strangely tragic kind of way. I promise to be extra careful around my pens from now on, now that I know what they’re capable of.
And Tara, thanks for stopping by. It’s kind of a relief to know I’m not the only one who relates!

I relate to you too – I’ve got a ridiculous collection of pens, and yet somehow it’s never enough. I feel about pens the same way I feel about bookstores – “oooh! Shiny! Want!!”

I still can’t believe I am not alone. I have LOVEd pens since I was a kid. It’s not a family thing, my sister doesn’t have the same feelings about pens.
